![]() ![]() Just a quick Google search will spit out one-star reviews. The ET2251 has a notoriously poor track record. I would start with your equipment and see if that's the problem a) because if it is the problem, you can fix it, and b) because if the problem is your equipment and Spectrum makes sure everything's working on their end, you're just going to continue to have the problem and your frustration will escalate. We're planning to go VOIP and then I'll switch providers for internet, but I'm hesitant to go VOIP when the internet keeps going down! I'm planning to switch to something else, because their prices are also terrible, but since all the phone lines are with them, it's a hassle. After a couple minutes, they come back on their own.Īny idea what's going on? I'm planning to call Spectrum, but I have been VERY unimpressed with their help so far (we've been here for 2 months and they still haven't updated our callerID and they still don't have our bill right, after MANY MANY calls on both). But websites and streaming video go down. Teams video calls work through the outage without any effect. I can still ping outside the LAN both by IP and name, so DNS is still accessible. Still have the outages.Īnd the outages are weird - the computers don't say the internet is out, but websites just don't load. ![]() To troubleshoot, we pulled the router out and put a fresh install of pfsense on a desktop. The network is TPLink Omada - couple switches, several APs, and an Omada ER7206 router. We (unrelated to the outages) upgraded to the 600mb and got a replacement modem, this time a ET2251 basic modem. Originally we had a Ubee DDW36C modem/router/wifi all in one box with 200mb service. Doesn't seem bad, except that it's a medical office with cloud-based patient record systems, and the outage tends to crash the software and cause lots of pain for the staff. We have multiple brief outages daily - somewhere from 3-10 times a day, the internet goes down for a minute or two. Spectrum business 600mb plan, plus multiple phone lines. ![]()
